#MondayMovement 015 :: Modified Sliders workout

I am totally inspired by the new program that I’ll be following in January to do more movements that use sliders, bands and loops!

So here’s a 3 move workout you can do with sliders, OR, if you’re like me and don’t have any just yet, with slippery socks 😀

3 moves 30 seconds each, 3 x round.

If I’ve learnt anything recently, it’s that size doesn’t depict functionality.
No jokes here !
Just because a room is smaller doesn’t mean it limits your ability to work out, get a good sweat on, nor to build strength, endurance, and muscle.
It’s all about how creative you can get, and how motivated you are to see results.

#MondayMovement 007 :: Leg Day!

Happy Monday everyone!

Here’s a quick 3-movement workout that’s gonna target your legs!

 

*Static lunge: *90 legs, *knees behind toes, *tight core,

*Bear Dog: *Flat Back, *Tight core, *Up on your toes, *shoulders on top of wrists, *SQUEEZE your glutes and hamstrings as you rotate legs

*Shuffle Squat: *Chest up, *Sit low, *Stay on your toes

10 rounds on each leg! 😀

#MondayMovement 006 :: Shoulders and Core

Happy Monday everyone!

Here’s another 3-move #MondayMovement to help you get #motivated! All moves are inspired by the three week program that allowed me to see a transformation like THIS in just three weeks!

This one’s all about the shoulders, and helping you sculpt your abs WITHOUT doing sit ups 😀

 

Do each Movement 10 times (5 each arm/leg) for 5-10 rounds 😀 – it’s great for an after-workout burn!

  1. Plank up: Strong Plank position; shoulders over wrists, tight core and glutes; wide stance, try not to rock!
  2. Knee to Elbow: Strong plank position; Hips down (no bums in the air); knee touches opposite elbow, push off your toes
  3. Plank shoulder taps: Strong plank position; Shoulders over wrists, wide stance, tap opposite shoulders

Happy Monday all!

Hope you’re day is brilliant – here’s 3 full-body movements that’ll get you starting your week off on the right foot 😀

1- Grass Picker: *Knees not passed the toes, chest up, hamstrings parallel to ground.

2- Square Jumps: *Hurdle requires high knees and using your arms to help you with momentum; hops require landing softly with bent knees

3- Plank Hops: *Stack your shoulders on top of your wrists, nice tight core and glutes, weight through the toes

I love open back styles! It’s simple, it’s sexy, it’s different AND it shows off all of the hard work I’ve been doing in getting closer to my goals of handstands and pull ups. And personally, that’s what clothes should do! They should accent your best features. Not make you feel like you need to have a certain body type to wear them!

YOU wear the clothes, the clothes doesn’t WEAR you!

Okay. *deep breath* I can get very animated when I speak about self-love and personal identity and how it all fits into society and fashion…

But I digress,

Today is for #mondaymovement and it features one of my favorite compound movements. I have no idea what it’s called (you’ll come to realize this as you start to hear some of the names I give the movements) but hey ho!

#MondayMovement: walking plank-pressup   aka: The Turtle

*Stay up on your toes, feet wider is easier

*Straight strong back with core tight and glutes flexed (looking for a peach bum!)

* Press up pushing through fingers and outside of hands

Variations:

  1. No weight, two cones a few paces away, walk on hands to one cone then press up, then to the other cone and press up – that’s one rep
  2. Heavier or lighter weight
  3. Variation in pressups for different targeted muscles

This movement has been truly a favourite and it’s great because you can do it at home as well!

It’s been fun embodying my childhood superheros, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles!
